From the Foundation's Purpose of Trust

"The Foundation seeks to enrich and sustain the lives and livelihoods of sick, poor and marginalized peoples throughout the world. In order to fulfill that goal, this trust is created and shall be operated exclusively for the charitable purposes of providing grants or loans for projects that advance human well-being. To meet these goals, the Foundation shall concentrate the majority of its activities in the areas of child welfare, women's rights and economic opportunities, health, and education, in each case with special emphasis on projects in Guatemala, Israel or the United States."
